Vaaji...Vaaji....Sivaji - The Boss

The most awaited movie of this year in the south indian film industry is only a month away from its release. The audio has already creating record sales and I think its time to review the music which is rocking the world.
I downloaded the tracks (out of curiosity) when they were released in the net.Yesterday only I bought the audio cd, so after n number of listening i am reviewing this gr8 master piece of ARR - The Boss. The order of songs is as per they r in the CD.

1. Balleilakka - SPB, Raihanah, Benny & chorus.

Rajini's introduction song and who can do the justice other than SPB can't think any other name. Once again he has proved he is the best.
The song starts with female chorus singing
"Suriyanoo...Chandiranoo...Yarevanoo... Satunu sollu.." and then the tempo picks up. The way ARR has used the arrangements in the song is gr8. I wuld say this is far better than the BABA song. This song on the first listening didn't appeal to me much. But now I am hooked to this. Esp. I like the way they say "Satunu sollu..." after the beats stop ..amazing only ARR can think like this..man he rocks.
The lyrics are very simple without much political incline .. expect for one line "...annan vanthaka tamilnadum america than..." gud work by N.Muthukumar.

Thinking how this song will be on screen and the way fans go crazy is giving me goosebumps.
But my fav. still is "Oruvan Oruvan mudalali" song 's opening piece.
Guys a gr8 intro song and one word of caution dont try to sing along SPB its tough....

Verdict - Balleilakka - kalakal.... 10/10

2.Style - Rags, Tanvi, Suresh Peters, Blaaze

Have u ever seen rajini doing a hip hop kinda stuff don't worry U can see in Sivaji. The song starts with Rags singing .."Give me one time style yea..Give me two time style yea..."
when I first listened i wonder what the hell it is... then the so
ngs continues with a female voice saying "styleeeeee..." and then the music picks up..I liked the song on the first hearing itself and am sure it is going to rock even better with visuals. The music is something new to our tamil film industry and once again it is ARR to do so.. Rahman never seizes u to surprise .. Tanvi singing pure tamil ...i didnt expect this. Kudos to ARR and shankar for this.

Verdict - Yo man rocking..... 10/10

3.Vaaji Vaaji - Hariharan, Madhusree & chorus

Another master piece from the master very well sung by Hariharan ... "Poombavai ... Aambal...aambal" it starts with the line and the music accompanying it is awesome..mesmerizing song. Hear it in the night with headphones on.
Instead of madhus
hree chinmayee would have done a gr8 job. Madhushree's pronunciation is not good. Other than that the song is very catch at the first hearing itself.
Waiting to see with the visuals...esp the foreign locations..

Verdict - Vaaji vaaji --- Waahji waahji.... 10/10

4.Athiradee - AR Rahman , Sayanora.

I always liked Rahman's intuition in selecting the singers having said that he usually keeps the best song, i wuld rather say difficult song for himself. In sivaji also he has done the same. This song is the pick of the album and is a rocking one. Esp the way Rahman sings ... oh man what a voice is he the same guy who sang "lucka chuppi..." and " vellai pookal..." songs?. Here his voice is rustic and gives u the feel of a rock star. Vaali's lyrics is very attractive and catchy with more focus on rhyming than meaning. I am amazed how Vaali gave such youthful lyrics ? kudos to him. The electric guitar piece is simply gr8. I like the way Rahman sings " Billa,renga,baasha...than evan pistol pesum beesha than..." awesome. The arrangements in the song are gr8 hear it using head phones to enjoy the music. Ranjit barot is the additional programmer he also did for "Mayaa mayaa..." in Guru there also he used the Buddha bar flute bit .. here also the song gives u the feel of "Jam" of MJ... ARR pls look into this aspect in future.

Verdict - Aathiradee -- Sara vedi... 100/10.

5.Sahana - Udit Narayan, Chinmayee..

Awesome melody ... I dont have words to express this song simply superb. I liked this song on the first go itself. The starting of the song and the flute is awesome... Udit narayan didn't chop the tamil words much in this song. I saw ppl expressing displeasure for using udit in this song, but i felt the voice of udit has added that extra bit to the song, as I have gr8 belief in ARR and his singer selection. Coming to female vocal.... Chimayee man this girl amazes me with every song she sings be it "kannathil muthamital.." or "Tera bina.." or this song. She has lot of ability but why ARR is not using her more is a mystery?. The ending of the song she sings "oh..o..oo..." awesome. I read her blog where she mentioned that the ending part is fully ARR's suggestion, thats really gr8. Have we seen 10% of ARR's talent?.

Verdict - Sahana-- Evergreen melody.. 10/10

6. Sahara - Vijay yesudas ,Gomathi &Chorus.

This is the pathos version of Sahana.. brilliantly sung by vijay. The surprise package is the thirupaavai lines sung by Gomathi amazing. Gomathi rendering the lines with a simple bell sound at the back awesome. It gives u a feel that ur in a temple rendering these lines and the temple bell is ringing behind.Good song to hear when ur a bit low.

Verdict - Sahara -- s
imply superb 10/10

7.The Boss - Blaaze, Naresh Iyer, Raqueeb Alam.

This is the BGM u will be hearing whenever rajini takes on the villians.
Blaaze as usual gives his best.I am attracted esp to the tossing of the coin, the sound travels from right speaker to the left at the start and from left to right at the end. Nothing to mention regarding lyrics they r a collection of punch dialogues. " Sega fighta .. sivaji righta..."
"Sachin aadicha sixer thanda, sivaji aadicha puncture dhanda..."

Cant wait to see fans going crazy.....

Verdict - The Boss -- ARR the Boss 9/10

Now waiting till May 17 for the movie release .. till then will be lost in the music. I am already envying those who r going to see the first day first show...
